INTERACTIVE RACIAL RECONCILIATION PRAYER SPACES

We call this the Imago Dei Prayer Room because ‘Imago Dei’ is the idea from Scripture that refers to the image of God that can be seen in all people. Racism then, is the hatred of the image and beauty of God.

We believe the Lord is calling the Church to listen to Him and listen to one another across ethnic walls.

The Imago Dei Prayer room is designed to be a place of learning.

As we Listen and Learn, we make space to lament. Lament is godly sorrow that is offered to the Lord as a prayer. It may only come out as a groan or a swelling of pain and grief. It sometimes leads to repentance or forgiveness.

“Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all sins.” Proverbs 10:12

As Christians we are called beyond the space of prayer and into a place of action. Love is that action as we follow Holy Spirits leading in celebrating the Imago Dei.

STATIONS

In our Prayer Rooms we have had 15-20 Prayer Stations. The self-guided prayer room is a powerful combination of history, current events, artwork (from local artists), interactive prayer stations, and (local) testimonies.
